Dubai Parking SMS Format, Payment and Renewal Steps

Introduction

Dubai parking SMS is a phone payment method for supported public parking bays. For a standard Dubai private plate, the message combines the plate code and number, the parking zone and the number of hours. A fictional example is B45678 123A 2, sent to 7275.

Before copying that format, read the sign beside your car. The zone in the message must match your actual bay, and a different plate source may need another format. Parking charges also depend on the location and time, so a correct message does more than send a familiar plate number.

Read the zone and build the right message

The usual Dubai private-plate template is plate code and number, a space, zone code, a space, hours. In B45678 123A 2, B45678 identifies the fictional car, 123A identifies the sample parking zone, and 2 asks for two hours. These example details are for explanation; use your own plate and the zone printed at your bay.

Keep every letter in the zone code. Premium or special zones may display a suffix that changes the tariff or parking category. A nearby street can have a different code, so an old message from the same neighbourhood is not enough to identify today’s space.

For a plate issued outside Dubai or a special vehicle category, check the operator’s current instructions before sending. Parkin’s official website is the place to confirm supported payment options. Do not attach an emirate abbreviation to an example at random and assume the system will recognise it.

Send the payment and check the permit

1. Choose the duration you need. Include enough time for the walk back to the car, as well as the appointment itself. Check any maximum stay displayed at the bay before requesting a long session.
2. Send the correctly spaced message to 7275. A prepaid mobile account needs sufficient credit for the transaction. Make sure you are using the correct SIM if your phone holds more than one mobile line.
3. Wait for the payment reply. Read the returned plate, zone and expiry before leaving. A sent SMS, a spinning app screen or a deducted phone balance should not replace this permit check.
4. Save the confirmation and set a reminder. Keep the message until you leave. A personal reminder gives you time to extend or return even if a network delay affects the service’s own alert.

If you move the car to another zone, read the new sign and buy the appropriate parking permission there. A ticket for one location should not be carried over to a different zone simply because time remains on it.

What you pay and how extensions work

Parkin uses variable parking tariffs, including standard and premium categories and peak and off-peak periods. In addition, 5% VAT has applied to Parkin parking services since 1 June 2026. Check the current amount in the payment channel; a screenshot showing only an older base tariff may no longer show the whole cost.

An SMS can also carry a service charge. Keep that separate from the parking fee and tax when comparing payment methods. The Parkin app may be more useful for reviewing the exact zone and current amount, particularly when you park often or use several registered vehicles.

For an active SMS session, the expiry reminder gives an extension option. Reply Y to 7275 when that option is offered, then read the new confirmation. The extension adds time at the same location and remains subject to that bay’s permitted stay and charging rules.

An extension is not the same as a seasonal parking subscription. If the system rejects extra time, check whether you have reached the location’s maximum stay instead of repeatedly sending the same message. Moving to another lawful bay may be necessary, depending on its restrictions.

If the message does not work

Start with the simplest checks: recipient number, plate code, number, spaces, zone and phone credit. A zone typo can be easy to miss when it differs by only one letter. Compare the original message against the sign and registration instead of editing from memory.

If you still have no valid confirmation, use another payment method that the sign supports. RTA also describes parking payment through its WhatsApp service, using the plate, zone and duration format. Open the official instructions yourself before starting a new payment channel.

Save failed replies and payment references if you need assistance. Avoid repeated transactions while a previous request is still being checked, because several charges can make the query harder to follow. A wrong payment does not automatically cancel a parking fine or prove that the correct car was covered.

Check free days before paying

Before leaving the car

Read the sign, send the correct details and match the confirmation to your car and bay. Once those checks are complete, keep the message and watch the expiry. That small routine is more dependable than reusing yesterday’s text without checking today’s location.
