Al Jubail Bus Station is a major bus terminal in Sharjah for local and intercity travel. Before heading there, check both the bus operator and the destination terminal. A bus to Dubai, for example, may leave passengers in a different part of the city from the one they need.
This guide explains how to plan that trip without mixing Sharjah city buses, Dubai RTA services and longer intercity journeys. Those differences affect the ticket, payment method and place where passengers board.
Where is Al Jubail Bus Station?
The terminal is in the Al Jubail area of central Sharjah, near the waterfront and the city’s older shopping districts. Search for the bus station by its full name when using a map. Souq Al Jubail is a separate destination, so a market pin is not a substitute for the terminal entrance.
Passengers arriving by taxi should give the driver the terminal name. Once inside, follow the destination boards and ask staff which departure bay serves the trip. Bay assignments should be checked at the station, even when an older travel guide gives a platform number.
How do you find the correct route?
Start with the destination address, then work backwards to the arrival terminal. The closest terminal is not always the best choice if another stop gives an easier onward connection.
- Write down the final building or area.
- Check whether the bus is operated by SRTA or Dubai RTA.
- Find the arrival terminal and any second bus or metro ride.
- Check the return service before setting out.
The SRTA intercity schedule has departure and destination selectors, together with fields for the line number and ticket fare. Select both ends of the journey to see the relevant result. If a route is missing or the tool does not load, confirm it with station staff.
Travelling from Al Jubail to Dubai
A city name alone is not enough when choosing a Dubai bus. Deira, Bur Dubai and southern Dubai can require quite different onward trips. Check the service through the operator’s planner and look at where it stops before buying a ticket.
For an address near the Metro, compare the bus arrival point with the official RTA rail map. Add walking and transfer time. An intercity bus arrival time is not the time a passenger will reach a hotel or workplace.

Can passengers use a Nol card?
Check the operator before assuming that a travel card will work. Dubai uses Nol, while Sharjah has its own Sayer system. A card used on one network is not a promise of acceptance on another service, including intercity buses.
Ask the ticket counter which payment method applies to the exact route. Keep a receipt when one is issued, and retain enough balance or money for the return journey and local connections.
What are the timings and fares?
There is no single fare or departure time for every bus at Al Jubail. These depend on the route, direction and travel date. Use the timetable result for the chosen journey and check the last return departure separately.
Holiday arrangements can also differ. In a March 2025 announcement, SRTA described extra intercity services for Eid. That was a holiday plan, not a normal daily timetable that should be reused for future trips.
Before boarding
Confirm the destination on the bus display and keep luggage clear of doors and walkways. For large bags, wheelchair access or assistance, ask the operator before travel. Arriving early gives time to find the right bay and solve ticket questions.
Road traffic can delay an intercity journey. Leave a wider margin for airport trips or timed appointments, and keep the final destination saved on the phone in case an onward taxi is needed.

Is Al Jubail the same as Rolla Bus Station?
No. Do not use the names interchangeably. Check the departure terminal shown in the route planner and the map pin before travelling.
Does every bus run all night?
No. Check the operating hours for the individual service. A busy terminal does not mean every route is available around the clock.
Where should a lost item be reported?
Contact the operator of the bus used. Keep the route number, direction, approximate boarding time and ticket details ready so staff can trace the journey.
